  • DIY SOY CANDLES: With Soy Candles, you can select from a range of scents and hues that fit well with the theme of your wedding to create inexpensive yet unique wedding favors.

Your visitors will like the lovely soy candles you can make with just a few basic tools and easy-to-find ingredients.

Items needed:

  • 2 cups soy wax flakes for container candles
  • Glass bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Candy thermometer
  • Fragrance oils and/or essential oils (lavender, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, etc.)
  • Wick sized to fit container
  • Glass jar or other container
  • Clothespin
  • Scissors
  • Wick holder
  • Candle putty

Method of preparation:

Melt the wax by creating a double boiler, put soy wax flakes in a glass bowl, and set the bowl over a pot that is about three-quarters full of water.
Stirring from time to time to heat the wax until it becomes soft and pourable. For every two cups of soy wax flakes, you will need one cup of melted wax.

Add the fragrance after allowing the wax to cool to a temperature of around 120 degrees. Once the fragrance of your choice has been added, do not heat the mixture further as this will cause the perfume to evaporate from the wax.

Place the wick in the container after a tiny amount of wax has been spooned into the center of the container’s bottom. Make sure you have enough wick at the top to hang over the end of the container and dangle the wick into the container until it reaches the wax.
Once the wax has solidified, hold the wick in place. Then, pinch the top end of the wick with a clothespin and place it across the top of the container, making sure the wick is upright and in the center.

Pour the wax after smoothing out the wax with a whisk into the container. Make space at the top and if any wax remains, allow it to solidify before storing it in a container for future use.

Let the wax harden overnight till the following day. Voila, you’re done with your soy candle! Simply add some string or ribbon around the neck of your candle jar to make it look more fancy.

  • PERSONALIZED TEA BAGS: Personalized tea bags are a thoughtful and enjoyable way to express your gratitude to your guests for being a part of your special day, which makes them ideal wedding favors.

Items needed

  • Coffee filters
  • Loose leaf tea
  • Twine
  • Cardstock or printed photos
  • Stapler

steps to get your personalized tea bags

Begin by printing up some of your favorite pictures, cutting them into small pieces for the tags, and using them as the tea bags. If you want to avoid using photos, you may also use cardstock and affix small, handwritten notes to it.

Using a coffee filter, put 1 1/2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea in the filter’s middle.
Raise the coffee filter’s edges to resemble petals, then cinch the middle to seal it off.
After pinching off a portion of the coffee filter, wrap a piece of twine over the affected area and tie it closed, leaving enough string to come off the tea bag for steeping.

Staple your photo or piece of paper to the end of the twine with a stapler and you’re good to go.
