  • With the plate face down on a cutting mat and the binder clips still in place, cut out the center piece of fabric in each switchplate hole with a craft knife.

  • Cut an X in the middle of each screw hole using the craft knife tip.
  • Give the plate fifteen minutes or so to dry.
