How to make your pizza/Process
Prepare the Dough
To activate the yeast, dissolve the sugar in the warm water in a small basin. After dispersing the yeast over the water, leave it for five to ten minutes, or until foamy.
To make the dough, whisk together 3 1/2 cups flour and salt in a sizable mixing bowl. Create a well in the middle and pour in the olive oil and yeast mixture. Mix until a dough starts to come together.
Place the dough on a surface dusted with flour and work it for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth. Increase the flour a little at a time if the dough is too sticky.
After the dough has doubled in size, place it in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm location for one to two hours.
Even though the most of these just require a one to two-hour rise, you can prepare the dough the night before and allow it to rise gradually throughout the day. Before shaping, make careful to let it come to room temperature for one hour.
Although your grocery store’s bakery counter sells great pizza dough, you can simply make your own at home for pennies, so why even bother when you can make your own?
Prepare the Sauce
Believe us when we claim that the best red sauce is a simple, no-cook blender sauce. There are other delicious options like garlic parmesan sauce, creamy ricotta, and pesto to choose from.
In a large bowl or container, combine olive oil, tomato paste, and water. Mix thoroughly after adding the garlic, oregano, basil, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Allow sauce to remain for a few hours so flavors can meld. Spread on dough; no frying required.
Simply put, combine the tomato sauce, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl, taste and adjust the seasoning then put aside.
Preheat the Oven
Allowing an oven to reach a high temperature before loading it with food is known as preheating. Just turn on the oven and adjust the temperature to your preference. When your oven is preheated, the interior temperature should be displayed.
When the oven is ready for use, the majority of ovens have lights that turn off or beep. Set the oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). While the oven is heating up, put the pizza stone inside if you’re using one.
Shape the Dough
To help extend the base outward, gently push your hands apart and keep pressing into the ball of dough to flatten it. Try to make the form as round as you can because this will affect how your pizza dough base will look overall after it’s spread out.
Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions for two pizzas after it has risen.
Roll out a portion of the dough to the required thickness in a circle or rectangle on a surface dusted with flour. Roll out the dough and place it on a baking sheet dusted with a little flour, or, if using a pizza stone, on a piece of parchment paper.
Assemble the Pizza
Leaving a thin border all the way around, cover the dough with a thin layer of sauce. Over the sauce, scatter some mozzarella cheese. Evenly distribute your selected toppings over the cheese.
Bake the Pizza
If you’re using a pizza stone, carefully place the pizza on the heated stone while still covered with parchment paper. Just put the baking sheet in the oven if you’re using one. Bake for ten to fifteen minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and beginning to brown and the crust is golden.
Pizza should be baked for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese and crust are golden brown. You can bake the dough right away if you are using a pizza stone; there is no need to let it rise. A pizza stone, a BBQ with a hood, and a paddle or plate to move the pizza dough to the stone are required.
Serve
After taking the pizza out of the oven, allow it to cool for a few minutes. Cut into pieces and present warm.
